Among the many original watercolors and mixed media paintings on canvas are themes to compliment any taste in art. Landscape paintings, seascape paintings, wildlife paintings, cityscapes and an assortment of limited edition giclee prints in various sizes give the art lover much to choose from. All watercolor paintings are executed on heavy 310 gram Provence Rag fine art paper of the highest archival quality. The mixed media paintings are done on high quality 19 mil. cotton duck canvas and stretched on heavy duty stretcher bars. The watercolor paintings, giclee print and canvas painting life estimate is between 100 and 200 years! Giclee canvas prints in an assortment of sizes are also available, as are custom commissions. The landscape watercolor paintings as well as the seascape art paintings and wildlife paintings are derived from my travels around the country and the world. Winter landscape paintings excite me because of the wonderful and unique light conditions created by the snow. The giclee art available in this gallery is painstakingly created in my own studio and every step in the process is carefully controlled by me. I output every giclee on a very high resolution giclee printer, using archival quality pigmented ink and archival quality paper and canvas. The giclees are numbered and signed by the artist and the edition size is limited to just 50 pieces. This is done to maximize the value of each print. I create watercolor original paintings because the brilliant colors of this transparent medium express the qualities of light, shadow and texture in a way that is unique. It is the subtle nuances of light and color that I wish to capture in my paintings as did the Impressionists of the last century. The mixed media paintings on canvas are created to impart the additional qualities that only oil paint can express. Glazes, impasto textures and the addition of mixed media add a dimension unavailable in almost any other medium. Scale becomes a factor since the sizes of paintings on canvas far exceed those available in the watercolor medium.
